Content Writer Department: Design Experience: 1 – 3 years

Paper Plane is looking for a Content Writer for our Mumbai office, who has outstanding writing skills with a high level of creativity and attention to detail.

Job Role:

  • Application/ Product/ Process Documentation:
    • Create Technical documentation and Content that communicate effectively to its intended audience. The emphasis is not only on accurate language, but also on the ability to use content visualizations and assist with content design, to unequivocally achieve the intended goals of the documents.
    • Work with the technical team to create, write and manage documentation for applications and products. This will include (but not be limited to)
      • Process Documents
      • Workflow Documents
      • Product Manuals / User Manuals
      • Release Notes
      • Concept Notes & Presentation Decks
      • Component Inventories and description
    • Understand the systems and products for which documentation is to be prepared.
    • Review and proofread the available process documents and edit them as required.
    • Conduct regular reviews [once a quarter] on process documents with the team to ensure that process changes are effectively captured. Own this process.
    • Understand internal processes to create documentation and content while understanding the context of what these processes encapsulate.
    • Edit and proofread all the technical documents.
    • Conduct periodic reviews [once a quarter] to ensure relevance, accuracy, consistency and usability of the documents at all times.
    • Create Templates in Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as per the organizational requirements.
  • Test Documentation & QA:

    Work in close conjunction with the QA team in designing and preparing test cases - mainly drive the templates and language for the documents created by the QC team.

  • Articles, Blogs & Social Media Content Creation:
    • Update, create and edit the content on the internal Paper Plane blog, in conjunction with technical teams.
    • Maintain a publishing calendar that will allow you to collate content from team members well in advance of the publishing date.
    • Maintain and regularly update both the Facebook and Linkedin Pages of the company.
    • Develop web communication standards to support company goals and improve the company's stature across social media.
  • Training Material:
    • Editing, Proofreading the training materials available and making sure its error free and easy to understand.
    • Work together with the technical teams to create new training materials as and when required.

Required Skill sets:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Graduate degree or equivalent experience in Research or Design, preferably with a focus on Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, or User Centered Design.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator and Flash and ability to use effects, gradients and other tools to create rich designs.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Documents.
  • Passionate about learning & Attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated & Quick learner.
